When director Heddy Honigmann is told by her doctor that she doesn't have long to live, she decides to take a trip to places and people that have great meaning to her.
She returns to Peru, the country where she grew up and made documentary classic Metal and Melancholy. She shares memories with old friends, meets people she gave a voice to in her documentaries, and visits the place where it all began: her birthplace. With Kristien Hemmerechts and Johanna ter Steege, among others, she discusses her family history, the difficult relationship with her father and her relationship with her son. And she looks back on her extensive oeuvre with award-winning special films such as Chimeras, The Underground Orchestra and O Amor Natural.
